{"id":40,"date":"2020-05-13T18:42:44","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T18:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/university-communications.ncsu.edu\/documentation\/?page_id=40"},"modified":"2024-06-28T10:14:32","modified_gmt":"2024-06-28T14:14:32","slug":"newswire","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/university-communications.ncsu.edu\/documentation\/products-and-tools\/newswire\/","title":{"rendered":"Newswire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p>There are two basic ways for campus members to interface with the Newswire:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Republish stories available through the Newswire on a unit&#8217;s site; and\/or,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute stories to the Newswire for other campus units to republish<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>While any campus unit can utilize content published through the Newswire, contributors of stories will need to <a href=\"https:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/ucomm-dev-request\/\">complete a one time request<\/a> for their content to be pulled into the Newswire. As part of this request, a contributor will need to indicate what type of content they most often produce and how it may be of interest to the larger campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Becoming a Contributor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To become a contributor to the Newswire, you will need to identify a category that you would like the Newswire to pull stories from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By only pulling stories from a specific category, you can self-curate which stories will be of interest to the campus community at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are ready to become a contributor, please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/go.ncsu.edu\/ucomm-dev-request\/\">UComm Dev Request form<\/a> and include the slug of the category. The developers within University Communications will work with you and\/or your technical support member(s) to have the Newswire pull in your stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Newswire Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/university-communications.ncsu.edu\/documentation\/get-support\/workshops\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/university-communications.ncsu.edu\/documentation\/get-support\/workshops\/\">Site Administrator workshop<\/a> provides a cursory look at using the Newswire.
