All <a href=\"http:\/\/brand.ncsu.edu\/icons\">126 NC State brand icons<\/a> are available in both options, giving you more flexibility in how you design your pages. Outline icons work in any block that accepts icons, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/university-communications.ncsu.edu\/documentation\/reference-article\/fact-row-block\/\" data-type=\"reference-article\" data-id=\"318\">Fact Row block<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind that within a single block, all icons must use the same style. You can toggle this on or off in the block settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span class=\"ncstateglossaryterm\" data-title=\"Student recruitment and application system\">Slate<\/span> Embed: Website Origination Field<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <span class=\"ncstateglossaryterm\" data-title=\"Student recruitment and application system\">Slate<\/span> Embed block now includes a dedicated field for the&nbsp;<code>website_origination<\/code>&nbsp;tracking parameter. If you embed <span class=\"ncstateglossaryterm\" data-title=\"Student recruitment and application system\">Slate<\/span> forms that require this value, you can now set it directly in the block rather than working around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Note on Block Usage Data<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting with this release, the theme collects data on which blocks are being used across the platform. We&#8217;re using this to better understand how site builders are working with the theme \u2014 so we can focus future development and training resources on the blocks that matter most to you. No content or personal data is collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other <strong>Improvements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Localist Event Filters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The filter and group selection components in Localist event listings within the <a href=\"https:\/\/university-communications.ncsu.edu\/documentation\/reference-article\/events-block\/\" data-type=\"reference-article\" data-id=\"460\">Events block<\/a> have been updated with checkboxes and a refreshed visual style, making it easier for visitors to filter events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mega Menu Updates<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Two small but useful changes to the mega menu:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mega menu sub-pages are now excluded from search engine indexing, so they won&#8217;t appear in Google or other search results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Labels in the mega menu editor have been updated for consistency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Search Box Block<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Labels and field descriptions in the Search Box block settings have been cleaned up for clarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>News Masthead Spacing<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Spacing between the page title and the N-space Brick in the News Masthead has been adjusted to align with updated brand standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accessibility: Compact Masthead<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Menu items in the Compact Masthead now include proper accessibility markup, improving compatibility with screen readers and assistive technologies. No visual change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bug Fixes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thumbnail Gallery with sidebar navigation<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Fixed a layout issue that caused the gallery to display at the wrong size when a sidebar was present.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Smart Search overlay<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Resolved a contrast issue that affected readability on the Smart Search overlay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Special characters in &#8220;In the News&#8221; titles<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Fixed an issue where characters like apostrophes and ampersands appeared as garbled code on the archive page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Missing Home link in News Masthead<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Restored the Home link that had disappeared from the Utility Bar on the News Masthead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gravity Forms Poll results<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Fixed incorrect styling of poll results when using the Gravity Forms Poll Add-on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>External links<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 External links now correctly open in a new tab and display the expected accessibility indicator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Archive page image quality<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Images on archive pages now load at full resolution instead of a smaller preview size.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Giving button icon<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Fixed a display issue with the giving button icon on sites that use non-standard branding configurations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Byline color in side-by-side header<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Corrected a low-contrast color issue affecting byline text in the side-by-side header style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ncstate-wordpress\/ncstate-theme-v4\/releases\/tag\/v4.16.0\">Full release notes<\/a> can be found in GitHub.
