Highlight Block

One of the most flexible blocks within NC State Stories, the Highlight block allows an author to link out to related stories, supplemental information and resources, or other online resources such as an event RSVP page.

Almost all fields within the block are optional, other than a heading and URL. Additional fields include a subtitle area that can be customized to provide more context for users. An image, teaser and call to action are also optional.

Because the Highlight block allows authors to add an image, it creates a bigger visual footprint within a post, so content creators should use this block carefully and intentionally.

A series of Highlight blocks could be used within a news post to curate a set of similar content related to a specific topic.

Alternative Options

More understated options that can be used instead of a Highlight block include the Related Stories and Button blocks.
