Highlight Block

One of the most flexible blocks within NC State Stories, the Highlight block allows an author to link out to related stories, supplemental information and resources, or other online resources such as an event RSVP.

Almost all fields within the block are optional other than a heading and URL. Additional fields include a subtitle area that can be customized to provide more context to users. An image, teaser, and call-to-action are also optional.

Since a photo can be added, the Highlight block provides a more visually impactful footprint within a post, so content creators should use the block purposefully.

A series of Highlight blocks could be used within a news post to curate a set of similar content around a specific topic.

Alternative Options

More muted options that can be used instead of a Highlight block include the Related Stories and Buttons blocks.
