Upgrading to NC State Theme v4

If you are using v3 of the NC State Theme, the upgrade process should be seamless.

Upgrade Process

Most university websites are running v3 of the NC State Theme, and special efforts have been made to ensure that the upgrade process goes smoothly for these sites. This is possible due to how the theme is coded and how blocks and pages are created.

The upgrade process is roughly the same if you are using the free tier or a paid tier.

If your site uses the free tier of the NC State Theme, you can upgrade at your own convenience by simply swapping your site’s theme to “NC State Theme v4” by clicking on “Appearance” within your site’s Dashboard.

When Must I Upgrade?

Version 3 of the NC State Theme will continue to be supported until the beginning of 2025, so university groups will have ample time to upgrade on their own schedule.
