NC State Theme Release 4.8
In this release of the NC State Theme, our team introduces a new Table of Contents block. We also roll out support for the Co-Authors plugin, for crediting multiple authors in a post.
New Features
- Table of Contents Block: Introduced a Table of Contents sub-block to the dynamic header. It is addable to any header and will auto-populate with any headers that have anchor links.

- Co-Authors Plugin Support: Added support for the Co-Authors Plus plugin. This allows users who add the plugin to add multiple authors to their headers.
Quality of Life Enhancements
- NC State Dashboard: Added better fall-throughs so that if elements of the NC State’s Dashboard HUD’s failed to render, the working parts will still display.
- Button Spotlight: Added preview for the Button Spotlight in the WordPress editor’s block list.
- NPM Packages: Updated the NPM Packages to the newest versions.
- PHP Warning: Removes PHP warning for the six blocks using the anchor attribute.
Bug Fixes
- Smart Search: Fixed a JS console error that would throw if the smart search is inactive in the theme settings.
- Button Spotlight: Corrected the color of the icons in the Button Spotlight.
- Split Container Slate Form: Updated the text color on the Split Container Slate Form to provide greater contrast.
- Buttons Block: Added a fallback for decodedURL in the Buttons block to handle missing URLs.
- Post Search Block: Fixed an issue in the post search block where the non-credit programs were showing up as resources.
- Font Sizing: Removed a leftover font-size rule that was conflicting with the new typography changes.
- Media Divider Block: Updated the Media Divider’s Focal Point picker to display after the change to a dynamic block.
- Big Fact Block: Removed a migrate function that was stripping the buttons in the Big Fact block.
