NC State Theme Release 3.2

New Link Styles

After feedback and new analysis of real-world link usage using prior styling, we’ve made a slight adjustment to our link styling for a slightly more polished look. This new iteration should assist with increased readability of longer length or line wrapping links, as well as in sections of text requiring multiple, sequential links. (Links in this paragraph are for example purposes — they intentionally don’t go anywhere.)

Additional Palette Colors

The global palette has been updated to include options for gray-600 and gray-800, which automatically enables these options for all blocks currently utilizing the existing color palette.

Recommended SmashBalloon Instagram Feeds

Basic styling support is now available for Instagram Feeds created via the [ instagram-feed ] shortcode. The styles target buttons, photo hovers, captions, and carousel pagination.

We also have tested some pre-configured shortcode configurations that can be used as-is for quick, easy usage. While these preconfigured shortcodes are recommended, all attributes are still functional and may be tweaked. (Note: Two exceptions are button colors and photo hover colors – these settings are always overridden for consistent branding purposes).

Instagram Feed Block – ‘Include Words’ Option

The Instagram Feed block now also supports text filtering via the ‘Include Words’ parameter. This is particularly useful for displaying hashtags contained within a single user’s feed.

Table Block

The Table block is now available on posts and pages. This block is useful for displaying basic tabular data in a variety of styles.

TablePress Styling Support

While the core table block is sufficient for most uses, more complex tables may be created in TablePress and displayed with very similar styles to the basic Table Block.

TablePress is a third party plugin for tabular data. For more information on how tabular data should be used, as well as Third Party Plugin support details, see our documentation topics on each.

32 Additional Spot Illustrations

32 additional spot illustrations were added for use within various supporting blocks, including Fact Lists and single Facts.

Custom Taxonomy Support – Feeds

Custom taxonomy selection support has been added to all blocks supporting automated feeds of content. This includes Automated Posts, Category Callout, and News Feed blocks.

Usage of this feature will vary on a site by site basis, but opens up a great amount of flexibility for enhancing News site organization and content strategy through customized taxonomies.

Padded List Styling

  • This feature is an additional style option for the List block.
  • This styling is almost the same as default list styling, but with additional padding between items.
  • This is particularly useful for longer length list items, such as the example shown here.

Various Bugfixes

In addition to new features, an assortment of bugfixes have also been applied across various products.
